I’ve been fishing up north since Thursday, July 31st. The dog days of summer has taken over the weather and moods of fish but I am conquering thanks to wise lake selections and selective fishing during prime daytime and nighttime hours. The only blunder I’ve made was exploring some dead eutrophic winterkill lakes for largemouth, but since learning from that mistake the smallmouth has been KING. July Fishing Report
Since end of June I’ve fished some, but worked lots, and have spent most of my time back in Chicago. I’ve caught fish, but none in my mind worthy enough to make posts about them. Based on how poor the month of July has been, I’m glad that my real day job as design consultant and communication specialist gave me something to do and kept me busy. Northwoods Report, June 2014
I recently returned to Chicago from my second major trip of the year, to work for 10 days until my next trip. I fished May 31st thru the 15th. Just like my incredible month of May with the smallmouth bass, June was spectacular as fish were in midst of spawning, or concluding. As for other species, I didn’t spend too much time on them, and the musky fishing was the worst and most atrocious I’ve ever experienced in Wisconsin for early June. This won’t be much of a musky report.
